Released on October 8, 1991, it went double platinum and was nominated for a Grammy for Best Metal Performance. 25 years ago my friend @sinisterdrone1 stood in line at #towerrecords for the midnight release of superunknown. As a reward for the fans they gave out raffle tickets for 2 records, one being superunknown coke bottle clear and the other a signed badmotorfinger translucent yellow. Needless to say he came home with both those records and they have been with him ever since. And now Eddie has entrusted me with these albums and they will live in my personal collection. Best part of the whole story is this Record has never been played ever. Don’t forget in the mid 90’s most everyone had gotten rid of turntables and switched to cd’s. Myself included.
So when I got these albums I said we had to play it for the first time together but time and geography put a damper on the plan. So today January 1st 2018, 25 Years after the release I figured there was no better time than now so I took advantage of technology and we did a FaceTime listening party of a few tracks. I gotta say it was probably the coolest thing I’ve ever experienced musically in my entire life.
